North Carolina Digital Learning Plan
North Carolina Department of Public Instruction
Type: In-House Design Project
Role: Lead Designer
Tools Used: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator
Overview:
As the lead designer for the NC Digital Learning Plan, I worked with the Digital Learning team at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) to bring their content to life. The 40-page document provided a statewide framework for improving digital teaching and learning in public schools.
Objective:
To design a clean, structured layout for a text- and table-heavy document that clearly communicated complex information to educators, administrators, and policymakers.
Approach:
I received all written content from the Digital Learning team and translated it into a polished, reader-friendly design. The booklet was largely made up of data tables, which I organized for clarity and consistency. I also created a custom infographic using a color-coded system to distinguish key subject areas, in line with NCDPI’s branding.
Outcome:
The final product was a professional, easy-to-navigate document that helped support conversations around best practices in digital learning. This project demonstrated my ability to transform detailed, content-heavy material into a clear, engaging format that aligns with educational goals.
