Born in South London 1975, Sarah Rana has received acclaim for both her illustrative work and fine art. Inspired by the works of Alberto Giacometti, Turner and strongly influenced by Japanese manga, Sarah is a talented and professional contemporary fine artist who now lives and works in Berkshire.

Educated in London Schools of Art & Design, at a young age she mastered life drawing and figurative illustration. Although painting was always her first passion, Sarah worked for many years with sculpture.

In her twenties and after her education she chose a career path to develop her commercial awareness within the corporate industry where she worked designing and developing packaging, corporate identity and design projects.Now in her thirties and after giving birth to her daughter, Sarah works from her home studio and has returned to her first love of painting on canvas and from here at the end of 2005 has never looked back.

Sarah is extremely flexible in her approach. Her work is modern, abstract and contemporary in style, using a range of mixed media to achieve rich textures and vibrant colours. Her paintings are original, unique and virtually impossible to reproduce. They are empowered by emotion, each one exploring the relationships between texture and light and reach to stimulate the viewers senses. It is the uniqueness they possess as well as high artistic standards that make each work a desirable addition to any art collection and a solid investment.

Sarah sells her work direct and internationally from her studio in London via her label SMR Creative through a variety of channels such as national exhibitions, galleries, art fairs, online studios and here via her own website. The level of satisfaction she reaches from creating works of art that are sought and displayed by a wide range of collectors is immense. The very fact that she is colouring a small corner of the world with her paintings is truly a precious part of her life.

Sarah's paintings such as the striking works of art shown in her gallery (click here) are all hand painted in best quality acrylic colours, including all round the edges on premium quality box canvas. The artwork is dated and signed by the artist on the reverse and comes with a signed and dated certificate of authenticity by Sarah herself.
